Guild held a meeting in Aarnimetsä Barony at 6 of July. Miehonlinnan Leonora opened the meeting at
10.03. Tea and Baker’s prayer cookies were served.
Present were: Miehonlinnan Leonora, his Excellency the Baron Eduard Tuve (as observer and supporter),
Alisa Karvarinta, Sigrund af Hucca, Johan Erikinpoika, Maria of Ruvik. Alina Kaarinantytär told prehand she
couldn’t take part in meeting due to her role as a lady in wating for her Majesty the Queen Beatrix, but
sends her regards.

Outside of guild meeting time, those who wished to join are Osk Grimsdóttir, Olavi (Peckonpojka) Tirwa,
Miksitär, Vallittu, Unikankareen Susanna, Marussa, Merwenna Ray and Valbor (Valpuri) Alfintytär Hyleh.

teatterikilta Aarnimetsässä (Sini Lindgren, Taija Paju, Ville Maahinen)
Baron’s greetings and a wish: His Excellency the Baron greeted all who had joined the meeting and made
known that he was most delighted that Drachenwald teather guild had again started operating in
Aarnimetsä. He told that we can expect support and favor from the current and future baron pair of
Aarnimetsä and that as a guild and as its members we make Aarnimetsä and Drachenwald what it is. Also
he made a request to the guild. He wishes not only see theathretical acts by us, but more then that he
wishes that we make ourselves known in Aarnimetsä. That we invite new people, who have joined
Aarnimetsä to our midts and offer easy, low threshold accessability to our activity. So new members of
Aarnimetsä feel welcome and dare to brave deeper into SCA activity. A bit like Aarnimetäs’s “helping
herald”-system. For someone to be there in events? Perhaps to be recognized as one (clothing? badge?
token?). As a guild reprecentetive I assured him, that we shall do so and that I bring these messages to the
head of the guild.
My suggestions for guild head in this matter: Make a tabard with guild badge, with guild colors and wear it
at events at least some moment and be on a lookout? To create a token that all members in guild here in
Aarnimetsä can carry (that topic is on voting in Facebook, subsite and people want one). To create noisy,
odd and funny parade to events with guild members, promoting guild and telling what play /act
/entertainment we are about to hold in said event (if we have 1 prepared), give out pmaflets/ greeting
cards with guild name + badge and fb contact info to those who are interested and willing (before, during
parade or after).
Anything on foot in Cudgel Wars 2025 or in near future?
- Miehonlinan Leonora told a dramatized story of Baker’s prayers to public at lunch hour (at least
Heleyne de Derteford and 2 other Journeymen were at audience) - Miehonlinnan Leonora held after lunch puppet theater and story workshop for kids (Aisopos
fables). Johan Erikinpoika (Journeyman), decided to join with his puppets as a spectator and puppet
renter (for more pupets to kids to play and create stories of their own after the show). - Maria of Ruvik thought she might hold improvisation workshop at Cudgelwar
- Taking part at 11 of July (Friday) play
- Johan Erikinpoika took part in commedie del arte presentation by Anton and is going to hold
children plays with his Ex Tempóre group at events - Merwenna Ray took part in theather rehersals and theather on Friday and commedie del arte
presentation by Anton
What members wish for from the guild? More knowledge about period acting, dramas and (expressive)
theater history. Workshops for improvisation acting, making props, (puppet) theater stages and coulisse,
pupets / marionettes, lighting and atmosphere creating and technical support in general, getting connected
to others, physical meetings (perhaps virtual too), interested in theater arts, do something together.
Perhaps create Telegram-group for quick info / communication on site
Are everyone interested to create big production tpgether, perhaps to next Cudgel wars 2026? YES!!!

Outside meeting: Theather guild has now own subsite in facebook for finnish conversation and connecting
purposes (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1603247847298502).It holds also link to “official” guild FB
page and has Guild Badge in media files
Speaking of, Herald pointed out that guild badge has not been made official by Edelweise. She also
commented that possible token could be “official” if it holds same signs as guild badge, even if token is
unofficial sign, or it can be something else, that associates with guild’s functions. It also could be not
officalised by Edelweise, but be more like “its says so in guild rules” at most or just be something people
have started doing/wearing as a custom.
In Cudgel wars I came to talk with Heleyne de Derteford about guild history, as it appears she holds red
Marchlight and thus is part of the guild. She pointed out that before Corona, when Aarnimetsä joined
Drachenwald theather guild, there was 1 meeting so current meeting isn’t a first here. As pandemia hit,
everything related to guild just died down / got forgotten as musicant guild of Aarnimetsä is more
prominent and Drachenwald theater guild is part of it (as she is clearly more musicant, or I got the feeling
from her words, I would take it with hint of salt. More like sister guilds, or I got her words wrong).
Also, referring to guild roster and Cudgel war 2025 partisipant list I noticed that these members were
precent, so the may have seen newbies preform, even if they didn’t join meeting or make themselves
known as guild members. I was trying to hunt people down on site a bit, but I am rather new myself, and as
guild didn’t gain strong foothold before Corona, I guess we have bit of a proofing to do (or older
aarnimetsääinen need to be told they are in guild, like Johan) as a guild in Aarnimetsä. To show we are
worthy for being part in, for older aarnimetsälinen generation, who have been used of the way of things as
they have been and rather find outlet through music or dance or preform as group of close, old friends
even if they may be, by name only members of the guild (nothing wrong in that and I have said to newbies,
being outside of guild or in guild doesn’t limit their creative preformances).

Carhu, Rikissa (Apilgoard?) Saara Pöksyläinen, Vilhelm (Torbjornsson?)
Guild name and my contact info are now shared in Aarnimetsä member paper, Aarniwalcia. Guild
