This weekend the Theatre Guild went to Styringheims gourmet feast!
The theme of the weekend was children and the Theatre Guild had a special request to be there for a little theater activities. Of course we wanted to come, and equipped us with activities for both large and small.
The day was filled with exciting activities. After lunch, we held a workshop for children. There was a small group who improvised the three short stories.
- The first story were named “The story of the rolling egg” (if my memory serves me) – a thrilling story about the frog that went to the cemetery and on the way there, see an egg. The egg rolls away up a mountain where there grows a flower and a mirror that hovers and then fall freely down to the cemetery, where a ghost by the sight of his reflection frightened flee away forever.
- Next story that this improvised theater company conjured up were: “The story of the bear and unicorn” – the incredible story of how a king in his impressive castle happened to have the problem that a bear had fallen asleep under his throne. But as the wise king he is, he solves everything by sending a dove with a letter to the unicorn who as fast he can gallop on the rainbow to the castle with a magic nut witch awakens the bear, which then rushes home.
- The last celebrated story were called: “The story of the rescued girl ” It was about the little girl who becomes trapped by the witch and the magic then forced her to spin dolls. These dolls, she then sell on the market in which a prince meets here and then follows her to the witch’s house and by throwing an anchor on the witch kills her. So the prince and princess lived happily ever after.
A moment later, it was full of craft activities for children while the adults had a theater workshop upstairs. It was a great big group that received a lot of wonderful exercises together.
A selection from the workshop:
- Our horror mixed delight over the hunt for all of us, but perhaps especially Ragnhild´s ducking of Baron Jurulfs blind hunting for here.
- Martin the younger´s escape out the window with his arms full of valuable books. Bookshelves that lacked some books and a frightened library staff.
- The victims after the book club´s meeting and the hero who held up the shelf.
- The TV-theft who became an art heist
- Head-on collisions between the busy family on the way to mother in law (or at least call the spirit to her) and the young men.
- The couple who met his servant’s son’s full and denied the relationship.
- The murder mystery killing performed by Mrs. Scarlet (Baron Jurulf) with a hammer in the library.
- Alien soldiers who found her colleague hanging on the wall and the alien who broke out of the stomach.
- Star Wars battle between Obi Wan Kenobi, and Darth Vader, while the others fled.
- Oil machines and the motor vehicle inspection that went to a loop.
- Last but not least, 5 minutes on everyone´s whole day.
After a wonderful workshop we gathered all interested for a guild meeting. The report will be available on the homepage to read. There were many new members of the Guild attending. Hooray for all new members! 🙂
After the great buffet but prior to the sumptuous buffet table, we invited also to a calm fairy tale moment for the young ones. The familiar story of ”The King of Drachenwald´s New Clothes” was told, from memory before a mesmerized audience. But because of the need for fairy tales were greater told several of the children told fantastic tales, they also from memory. We were told fairy tales as “Sleeping Beauty”, “Snow White”, “Racer car that drove really fast and jumped a lot,” “Rapunsel (a bit differently narrated),” “The story who was sanded,” but also “The story that was gravel.” In the end, we read the story of “Cock-a-doodle-doo” before it was time for the spectacular dessert table.
The Guild feelt incredibly happy with the weekend’s theatrical activities and incredibly lucky to have had the chance to participate in a wonderful event! Many thanks to everyone who made this weekend possible, and so amazing. This applies both to autocrats and all who attended!
