- The meeting was declared open by the Guild elder Styrbjorn and elder Ingrid. Ingrid took on the role of secretary. All participants were warmly welcomed to the Theatre Guild meeting.
- Ingrid & Styrbjorn gave a brief history of the Guild, and purpose. The statutes were distributed to new members and explained briefly.
- Guild new members were deposited in the Guild’s future plans. The closest in time is Double Wars when the guild will be holding a number of workshops and performances. Guild members were invited to please come in with their own suggestions for activities and appearances. We want to be seen at Double Wars! 😉 Astrid expressed a desire to possibly do some theater workshop with and for children. She talks a bit with Ingrid before she makes a decision.
- For those coming from Styringheim we asked whether they knew anything about “Feast of Fools”. The challenge that Styringheim received by the King UlfR Blodfotur Fallgrson and Queen Caoimhe no Domnaille of Drachenwald at their Lucia feast in December. The Theatre Guild has already previously been half asked if we could help. The Guild needs to know more about it and if our help is needed.
- Plans also for the Medieval Week were the Guild hopes to get placed in the high official program of the Medieval Week with some workshops. Eskil has been asked by Styringheim if the Guild is willing to hold something for children and adults in the camp during the week. The Guild will consider and come back with an answer. – Maybe that Vannas puppettheatre would be something?
- We were was asked if they could go to Glotagillet this fall and do something for/with children. The Guild would consider and come back with an answer.
- St. Cecilia will be held the last weekend of November and the Theatre Guild will of course have activities there. Anyone interested in contributing is welcome to mail to info [AT] teatergillet.se
- It was discussed that it would be a good if the Guild Elder held some courses for those who might wish to keep their own courses, to give tips on what to think about.
- Eskil asked if there might be someone in the guild that would like to keep in a 15-minute lecture in the Fornhallen on August 8. To read information from Styringheims Moas: “I announce a Request Information on willingness to Monday 8 August, this medieval week days, keep so-called speed lectures thus a 15 minute lecture (10 + issues?) On Gotland Museum’s courtyard, the idea is that it will be run between the hours. 11 and, at. 13.30. The title is “The Medieval time in 15 minutes – small lectures about food, crafts and way of life during the Middle Ages.” So, anything is possible! mead-brewing, how to use urine in many respects, view of religion, one-hand drums, saffron, you name it! “
- It was discussed that the Guild has decided on a weapon. Since our knowledgeable patron Hartmann have accepted the weapon, then it should go through. It would be fun if we had a little pennants, flags etc. to Double Wars for everyone to see where we are and who we are. In addition, we talked about that it would be fun if guild members would be willing to wear clothes in black and white when the Guild does something. The founders have decided to sew a little thinner linen clothes to wear when they hold workshops. It gets very hot if you have wool and are in action as we do for example in Stage fighting. Tyra offered to make a banner for Medieval week if she can. Everything is appreciated! J
